Our Story & Mission

Mia & The Sea started as a passion project — now it’s a brand with purpose.

The ocean has always been a huge part of my life — it’s where I feel most at peace and most myself. I started surfing when I was young, and for most of my life I’ve lived close to the beach, spending countless hours in and around the water. Whales and dolphins have always inspired me, and sea turtles are my spirit animal.

Mia & The Sea began on the Sunshine Coast with me, Leish, my boxer Mia, and our love for coastal living — from sunrise surfs to sandy paws. What began as a creative outlet soon evolved into something deeper.

After moving to Melbourne, I saw firsthand the impact of pollution on our local beaches — collecting plastics and rubbish left behind after busy summer days really opened my eyes. It became clear that Mia & The Sea had to be more than just a coastal lifestyle brand; it needed to stand for something bigger.

Today, Mia & The Sea is a purpose-led brand dedicated to protecting what we love most — the ocean. Every design is made with intention, inspired by the sea, and created to remind us to protect, respect, and love our oceans.

We’re proud to be an official Business Supporter of the Australian Marine Conservation Society (AMCS), donating $1 from every sale — plus a monthly contribution — to help protect our oceans and marine life

We create with purpose — not excess. By using print-on-demand production, we reduce overproduction and keep waste to a minimum. Each item is printed when you order, helping us tread lightly on the planet while avoiding mass production and unnecessary stock.
